Man Gets Disrespected At A Job Interview, So He Pretends He Is Accepting The Job Just So He Could Not Show On Monday
This is the type of petty I aspire to be.
Job interviews are stressful enough without a hiring manager turning the process into a power trip. For one Reddit user, a promising electrical technician opportunity quickly turned into a lesson in disrespect, waiting, and pay that was nowhere near what he was told.
The poster, who was in trade school and found the opening through career services, showed up ready to make a good impression. Instead, he was left waiting for hours, then told the delay was basically a test, followed by a much lower wage than advertised.
That was enough to push him toward a petty bit of revenge, and the way he handled it is hard to miss.
Job interviews can be nerve-wracking, especially if things don't go as planned.

RedditOP showed up on time for the interview, but the manager wasn't there

Getting a job can be difficult in some respects, no matter what position you're applying for. As a result, the job interview stage is usually predictable in the sense that you can plan ahead of time.
Of course, there will be some surprises, but nothing you can't anticipate. Nobody is prepared until they are forced to face something they are not ready for.
An hour has passed, and still no sign of the manager

So, after two hours, the manager appeared, saying that waiting was a test.

And the pay is about half of what OP was told before

The manager complained about how people don't want to work. This infuriated OP. So he decided to fight back.

That was the moment OP decided he was done playing along.

When the original poster (OP) was told that the manager is often late, it's no surprise that he began to suspect something was wrong. However, given that the company was offering more than three times the minimum hourly wage listed in the ad, it's not surprising that OP remained hopeful while waiting.
Apparently, the job was not worth the wait.
Some interviews tell you everything you need to know before the first day.
