Carla Wyzgala, better known as Carlations, has a knack for turning familiar characters into something a little more unexpected. Her watercolor pin-up style leans into vintage burlesque, goth aesthetics, and pop culture all at once, which makes each piece feel playful and a little subversive.

Based in Long Beach, California, Carla has built a body of work that includes her comic series Skull Maskerade, Hidden Door Comics, and a steady stream of fan art inspired by Sailor Moon, Disney, and other recognizable favorites. Carla Wyzgala, aka Carlations, is a watercolor pin-up illustrator and the artist behind Skull Maskerade. Using vintage burlesque as inspiration, her work is an unapologetic celebration of the female form. Self-publishing art and comic books since 2013, Carla is currently co-creating and self-publishing the Skull Maskerade comic with her husband and tattoo artist, Justin Tauch.
