20+ Times Greeting Cards Were Made So Creatively That It Captured Our Exact Emotions
There is something for everyone!
Some families do the holiday cheer thing, and some families do it the way they actually feel, with greeting cards that look like jokes but hit like emotional receipts. This collection is basically a highlight reel of people trying to say “I love you” while also side-eyeing the entire season.
It started with cards that range from awkwardly specific to fully unhinged, like a message that sounds suspiciously like it needs birth control industry approval, or a “we’re hoping you’re not ratted out” vibe that feels less festive and more “please don’t snitch.” Then there’s the card that turns romance into a statistics lesson, the one that has to include an explanation for what it “means,” and the one that makes you wonder why Santa is being plotted like a villain.
And somehow, it all comes back to the same thing: nobody wants to throw these away, because they’re too accurate.
1. The appreciation was an honest one

2. Is this approved by the birth control industry?

3. We're here hoping that you're not ratted out
4. There is nothing that science can't do these days
5. What an incredible way to express your love
6. Thank you for the statistical lesson... Next!
7. That’s perfectly alright as long as it’s consensual
8. Disturbing for all the wrong reasons, because come on...
9. That's odd, but when I think about it, it makes sense
10. You had better jingle all the way
11. I get that grandma doesn't know what quickie means
12. Is Santa becoming more and more naughty?

13. You have to be kidding me right now
14. And the person literally got you what they wrote
15. The best gifts are the ones you make yourself
16. What a naughty partner is capable of doing
17. Just so you know, I wasn't reminded by Facebook
18. You always have to look on the bright side of things
19. That's a very nice gesture, but on a card?
20. Had to explain what it meant for better clarification
21. That is creative
22. No, I don’t, and I’d like to keep it that way
23. What do you do when your cat talks back?
24. A good way to get a response... or not
25. A card for all occasions, I guess
26. Don't do that
That’s when the appreciation card gets real, because the handwriting is sweet while the subtext is pure “we are not pretending.”
Then you hit the “approved by the birth control industry?” energy, and suddenly the whole table feels like it’s laughing through a side eye.
Next comes the “not ratted out” card and the “consensual” disclaimer, and you can practically hear the awkward silence after someone reads it out loud.
By the time Santa’s getting called out for being more and more naughty, even the “jingle all the way” joke feels like it’s coming from the same exact place as the rest.</p>
Some families choose not to participate in the year's overly emotive and sugarcoated attempts at holiness and yuletide cheer. Rather, they tell a joke on their holiday cards.
To be perfectly honest, we don't really hold onto things for a long time because they impress us or anything; rather, we do so because we feel horrible about throwing them away. Leave your thoughts about this collection in the comments and share this post as well.
These cards don’t sugarcoat anything, they just get mailed.
