Dude Regrets Choice Of Words After Texting Like A Scammer On Bumble And Getting Unmatched Instantly
This is why we must think before we type. Facts.
There's a reason why we're always told to think before we speak; well, it turns out only a few got the memo. Did you know that there's only a 3% chance of two people matching on Bumble?
When you're one of the lucky few who've matched, it's important to think before you text. This, unfortunately, wasn't the situation for Redditor Froyed, who was instantly unmatched due to his choice of words.
Unless you're chocolate, chances are people will not give you second chances. Those are just facts, man.
So what happened to Froyed? We'll let him explain, but let's give you a gist.
This dude matched on Bumble with someone he thought was a girl with a great sense of humor. The girl asked him if he'd seen a post on Reddit about a man who fought with his girlfriend's family by pretending he didn't know what potatoes were.
The dude read the post after searching for it on Reddit, pretended he hadn't read it, and replied blankly with a "no." The girl sent him a link to the post, not knowing that the guy had read the entire thing and was only pretending he hadn't.
Now, I don't know about y'all, but I find this very fishy. What's the need to pretend when things are going right?
The dude says, "I was hoping that she would tell me the whole story herself and I'd pretend that I had never heard that story in my life..."
Why? Don't you know the dangers of being too comfortable?
I know no one asked, but this is inappropriate, and I'll share my reasons in the end. You may begin scrolling.
Here's how it started.
u/FroyedWhy would it be boring? It's the sanest thing to ask.
u/FroyedThis is downright creepy. I'd run for the hills too.
u/Froyed
Why am I not surprised? smh.
Knowing the girl frequents Reddit, this is also my question.
u/Froyed
ROFL. Let's creepify the entire situation.
u/Froyed
Nope, it definitely wasn't.
u/Froyed
He does, and he messed it up. Also, I smell jealousy.
u/Froyed
Exactly my point; OP's hiding something creepy.
u/Froyed
Yes, this is true. It's not something to joke about.
u/Froyed
Facts.
u/Froyed
Um, no comments here.
u/Froyed
Maybe she unmatched him because he was pretending too much.
u/Froyed
Exactly; there's something else OP hasn't mentioned, perhaps.
u/Froyed
Honestly, this isn't a very good thing to say. Sorry, lass.
u/Froyed
Good point.
u/Froyed
Facts.
u/Froyed
LOL.
u/Froyed
I'd hate to agree, but it's weird to pretend and then ask for personal info, even as a joke.
u/Froyed
I didn't say it.
u/Froyed
You just tried too hard, my friend.
u/Froyed
LOL.
u/Froyed
Well, this escalated quickly.
u/Froyed
Meanwhile, somewhere...
u/Froyed
In Summary...
So before I forget what I was about to say, I'll just spit out some facts here. If he could tell she had a great sense of humor, chances are she didn't fall for the 'scammer-type' text that Froyed sent her.
She knew he was joking but was either too mature for him or didn't want to go out with a guy who thought he was funny but, in reality, wasn't funny at all. There's a level of cringe people can bear, y'all.
What do you think about all this?
