One baby shower turned into a financial mess when a pregnant woman came home to find every gift gone. The gifts were supposed to help her and her husband prepare for their first child, but instead they vanished overnight.
OP, a 27-year-old expecting her first baby, says her family and friends gave her diapers, pacifiers, pajamas, books, and other essentials. She stored everything away, only to discover the next day that her husband had sold it all and taken the cash to help a friend repair a van for an upcoming trip.
That explanation did not make the situation any better, and the fallout got ugly fast. Read on.

OP yelled that they needed those things for their baby, but her husband said they didn't since they already had a nursery full of essentials. Besides, he had no choice but to help fix the van because his friends threatened to exclude him from the trip if he didn't.
They fought, and OP's husband told her that she was overreacting. She then told everyone about what her husband did, and he began receiving calls and messages calling him out for his behavior.
He then yelled at his pregnant wife for exposing him and acting immaturely by tattling to everyone they knew. He also said it's his baby too; therefore, he was entitled to half of those gifts.
He accused OP of misrepresenting the story in order to gain sympathy and ruin his reputation in the process. Since then, he has been staying with his friend and refusing to return OP's calls until she "corrects" the narrative.
