However, as we say, keen-eyed viewers have noticed one aspect of Simon's style while watching the documentary: he wears orange glasses all the time. The father of one is rarely spotted without the eye-catching decorations on his face, and it turns out that there's more to it than simply fashion.

Following rumours that he was suffering from a "mystery illness" as a result of missing BGT filming, he was compelled to discuss his health. According to OK! Magazine, Simon stated on Instagram at the time: "I just found out, according to the internet, I have a 'mystery illness'.

"For anyone concerned, I missed two auditions at the end of one day, two weeks ago, because I do get migraines after long days in the filming lights," says Cowell. "PS. This is why I wear these glasses!" he wrote next to a picture of himself wearing the glasses while sitting in his judge's chair.

Light sensitivity is one of the most prevalent migraine symptoms, according to the Association of Migraine Disorders. Bright, flashing, flickering, fluorescent, or colourful lights can also trigger migraines in certain people. Although the specific type of glasses Simon wears is unknown, Ohio State University Wexner Medical Centre assistant professor of neurology Kevin Weber, MD, discussed the possible prescription with SELF. Since then, fans have commented on the occurrence on social media.

One Twitter user wrote: "Some glasses have coloured lenses because they help with light sensitivity. If you watch BGT, you'll see Simon Cowell wears orange lenses glasses for the very same reason."
