They were chilling to watch.

We can all agree that serial killers aren't exactly the type of people you'd easily give the benefit of the doubt. They're also not the type of individuals you'd want to be hanging out with alone on a Saturday night in an abandoned alley or in your apartment.

And yet, for some absurd reason, many people are fascinated by these individuals. Generally, we're curious about who they were as people and how they managed to evade capture for so long.

That's why, even though some serial killers have long been dead, people continue to create books and shows about them. We still watch these productions because, well, they are interesting.

When you think about it, from a cinematic standpoint, it can be quite challenging for actors to portray these real-life figures. To accurately depict them, they must enter a specific headspace, learn mannerisms, and, to some degree, embody individuals who have been branded as evil by society.

These roles are difficult to take on, and the celebrities who have accepted them deserve applause. Here are the stars who have portrayed serial killers.

Just before his execution in 1989, Bundy confessed to 30 homicides committed in the 1970s. Zac Efron portrayed him in the 2019 film Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile.
