Utility Company Demands To Speak To Dead Home Owner, Daughter Obliges
This is what I call a dark sense of humor...
Some utility companies can turn a simple cancellation into a nightmare, and this story goes from frustrating to surreal fast.
After Reddit user Gloria’s father died on Father’s Day in 2012, she had to handle the painful task of closing out his house accounts, including the utilities. Instead of getting basic help, she kept running into roadblocks, confusion, and a company that seemed determined to speak to the account holder, even though he was gone.
By the time she decided to push back, the situation had already gotten absurd. Read on.

In trying to get the matter handled, I was passed around to so many different people that I lost count. Not one person ever really took the time to listen to what I was trying to say to them. Not one person said, ‘Oh. Wait. He’s dead? I understand. Let me get this to the correct department.’ They just kept insisting on speaking with the account holder,”
She went on to say:
My dad was right there with me in spirit and would have approved of using his ashes to fight back.
She explains the full story below.
She sets the scene...
She so far had done everything asked of her in a difficult time.
To speak to a deceased person to make sure they're deceased?
Totally worth getting arrested for this.
The police arrived and went off with the manager to discuss further what they were going to do about this.
In her emotional state, she simply did the most effective thing to get where she needed to go.
A happy ending for the girl and her father! Not so happy for the mean employee...

The ashes in question.
People shared their thoughts about the whole event.
And if you think the utility company’s dead-owner mix-up is bad, check out the family home sale feud where disowned siblings fight over profit.
More dead father debacles.
Spirit connection.
Death and taxes.
Surely there must be an effective way.
It really is incredible.
There must be a better way!
That escalated in the most unbelievable way.
Wait until you see the posthumous will fight, where one dad’s favoritism leaves a brother with little.
