30 Celebrities Put Things Into Perspective With Their Reactions To The Uvalde Tragedy
Between 1970 and 2020, there were 2,053 school shootings in the US, and this year alone, there have already been 288 recorded.
Gun laws in the United States have once again become the topic of discussion worldwide. Sadly, it's because the US has been struck by yet another tragic mass shooting.
People everywhere are struggling to fathom how the US government can continue to allow tragedy after tragedy to occur without reevaluating gun control legislation. It would be laughable if innocent people were not losing their lives in preventable mass shootings.
On May 24th, 18-year-old Salvador Ramos shot his grandmother before entering the back door of Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas. He barricaded himself in two adjoining classrooms, where he began shooting.
There were 19 children in the two rooms, and all of them were killed, along with two teachers. When the police arrived, they were able to neutralize the shooter.
Disturbingly, Ramos had purchased two assault rifles for his 18th birthday. At 18 years old, he was able to walk into a store and buy two powerful guns without question.
Ramos even shared a photo of his purchases on his Instagram just three days before the shooting. Yet, no one was concerned because a teenager buying a weapon in the US is as normal as buying games or candy.
The United States Constitution states, "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed." With 44% of American adults having at least one gun in their home, it's obvious they enjoy exercising their right to be armed.
Between 1970 and 2020, there were 2,053 school shootings in the US, and this year alone, there have already been 288 recorded. Of course, tragedies such as these occur worldwide, but the frequency and severity of mass shootings in the US are entirely unmatched.
Politicians are once again "discussing" the country's gun control laws, but still, nothing has been done to prevent future mass shootings. People are fed up and are speaking out, pleading for change.
So many voices go unheard; however, celebrities have a much larger platform than most, and thankfully, they too are speaking up on this crucial topic. Keep scrolling to see 30 celebrity reactions to the Uvalde tragedy.

We applaud these celebrities for expressing the frustration we all feel so deeply on this matter. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the 21 victims who were killed so mercilessly in the Uvalde shooting.
Surely, there must be a change in American gun control legislation soon. How many more innocent lives need to be lost before something is done?
