15 Actors Who Didn't Like Or Straight Up Hated Their Own Movies And Shows

It's not hard to see why.

Much like any other job, there are times when actors actually like the role they're playing and there are also times when they don't like it or downright hate it. Of course, they don't make it obvious all the time.

During the press tours, the promotions, and the fan services, a lot of them are actually contractually obligated to say nice things about it and to get people to watch it. In reality though, a lot of these actors and actresses would love to joke about their roles or even trash-talk them.

It's easy to understand why. It's a job, it pays the bills, and well, it can get them to where they want to be in their careers. We'd probably do the same thing.

When all is said and done, however, the truth eventually comes out and in one way or another, these actors and actresses find a way of telling the truth about how they feel about their work. Sometimes, it's surprising and sometimes, it can even hurt the fans' feelings but remember, they're human too and they're allowed to hate their work.

Here are some of the most famous celebs out there who have openly revealed how they really felt about their work.

Robert Pattinson (Twilight)

The actor has often joked about his role and has been brutally honest about the entire franchise.

"The more I read the script, the more I hated this guy," he told the Empire Magazine. "If Edward wasn’t a fictional character and you met him in reality, he is like one of those guys who would probably be an ax murderer or something,” he also told OK.

While doing press for The Batman though, Robert jokingly told costar Zoe Kravitz, ""It's not even cool to be a hater anymore...that's so 2010" about Twilight so maybe he's changed his mind a little?

Allison Williams (Girls)

Williams has said that she probably wouldn't get along with her character in real life. "Marnie would drive me crazy if we were friends in real life. But I have to put that out of my head in order to play her," she said.

"Like, sleeping with Elijah (Andrew Rannells) is crazy, sleeping with Ray (Alex Karpovsky) is crazy, furiously hitting on Desi (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) when he mentions his girlfriend in their first conversation is crazy," she added.

Williams also had a hard time understanding Marnie's decision to sleep with Booth Jonathan in Season 2. "I was fighting that the whole time as Allison. I did not want her to go down that road. I thought Marnie was better than that, but she wasn't, so I had to be OK with it too."

Colin Farrell (Miami Vice)

The actor has made it very clear that he was disappointed in the movie. "Miami Vice? I didn't like it so much," he said.

"I thought it was style over substance and I accept a good bit of the responsibility. It was never going to be Lethal Weapon, but I think we missed an opportunity to have a friendship that also had some elements of fun." He also added, "It was a very big story and I know that Oliver [Stone, the director] was very rushed to do a cut, but for me it just failed gloriously. It kept in step with the magnitude of Alexander’s ambition and ego.”

Kelly Clarkson (From Justin to Kelly)

The film was known as a disaster and Clarkson also shared that she wasn't a fan of it either.

In an interview with Rolling Stone, Kelly was asked if she burned down all the movie copies and she said, ""No, I think I would have to own it first. But that is something I will look into. I have a little joke with our nanny, because she told me she loves that movie. She was like, 'My roommate and I used to watch it all the time! I’m totally going to show your daughter From Justin to Kelly.' I’m like, 'I will fire you.'"

Justin Guarini (Justin to Kelly)

In an episode of Oprah: Where Are They Now, Justin flat-out called the film "abysmal."

Channing Tatum (G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra)

The actor didn't hold back when sharing his thoughts about the film, "Look, I'll be honest. I fucking hate that movie. I hate that movie," he told Howard Stern.

"I was pushed into doing that movie ... [After] Coach Carter, they signed me for a three-picture deal … And as a young [actor], you’re like, 'Oh my god, that sounds amazing, I’m doing that!'" he explained. "The script wasn’t any good. I didn’t want to do something that I thought was 1) bad, and 2) I just didn’t know if I wanted to be G.I. Joe.”

Halle Berry (Catwoman)

The actress publicly slammed the film at the 25th annual Razzie Awards. "I want to thank Warner Bros. for casting me in this piece-of-shit, god-awful movie," she said.

Zac Efron (High School Musical)

Troy Bolton might have been everyone's crush when the film was released but Efron wasn't so impressed. "I step back and look at myself and I still want to kick that guy’s ass sometimes,” he told Men's Journal.

"Like, fuck that guy. He’s done some kind of cool things with some cool people —he did that one thing [Neighbors] that was funny — but, I mean, he’s still just that fucking kid from [High School Musical]." he added looking back at his career during that time.

Evangeline Lilly (Lost)

Lilly didn't like her character much in the film. "I always thought she was obnoxious," she said in an appearance on The LOST Boys podcast.

"At the beginning, she was kind of cool, and then as the show went on, I felt like she became more and more predictable and obnoxious. I felt that my character went from being autonomous — really having her own story, and her own journey, and her own agendas — to chasing two men around the island, and that irritated the shit out of me. And I did throw scripts across rooms when I'd read them because I'd get very frustrated..."

Harrison Ford

Ford has been very vocal about how much he dislikes his character and how he has grown tired of the movie franchise. He even called Solo "dumb as a stump" in 20018.

During an interview with Today, the actor said admitted he's reached his limit with Star Wars. "I'm glad I did all three of them. I'm glad it brought itself to a natural conclusion, but three is enough for me," he said. "I was glad to see that costume for the last time."

Sally Field (The Amazing Spider-Man)

She said that she just didn't like the movie. "It’s really hard to find a three-dimensional character in it, and you work it as much as you can, but you can’t put ten pounds of shit in a five-pound bag," she said on The Howard Stern Show.

Andrew Lincoln (Love Actually)

Lincoln said that he wasn't too fond of his character in the film and thought of him as creepy.

"In one of the most romantic movies of all time, I got to play the only guy who doesn't get the girl," Andrew said. "The story is set up like a prism looking at all the different qualities of love. Mine was unrequited. So I got to be this weird stalker guy."

Michelle Pfeiffer (Grease 2)

The actress was pretty blunt about how felt about the film. "I hated that film with a vengeance and could not believe how bad it was," she said in 2007.

"At the time, I was young and didn't know any better."

Kate Winslet (Titanic)

Kate Winslet has been pretty open about how she couldn't stand to watch herself in Titanic.

"Every single scene, I'm like 'Really, really? You did it like that?' Oh my god," she shared with the Telegraph. "Even my American accent, I can't listen to it. It's awful."

"Hopefully it's so much better now. It sounds terribly self-indulgent, but actors do tend to be very self-critical. I have a hard time watching any of my performances, but watching Titanic I was just like, 'Oh god, I want to do that again.'"

Alec Baldwin (Rock of Ages)

The movie received mixed reviews and Baldwin himself said that the movie was "horrible" and "a complete disaster."

He also seemed to believe that the movie was doomed right from the start. In 2011, New Line studio head Toby Emmerich said that before production began, Alec asked to replace him, however, the studio wasn't able to.

Well, that's just how life goes sometimes. Even if you don't like the job, you just have to work it for the sake of the bucks and the sake of your career.

We hope these actors at least learned something from these roles they don't see too positively. Or at least we hope they go down the part of memory lane that's just sealed up and thrown to the bottom with the key getting lost forever.
