30 Tweets That Perfectly Describe How Airbnb Changed For The Worse

Airbnb is not what it used to be.

Airbnb was supposed to make travel feel more personal, cheaper, and a little less like every other hotel stay. Instead, plenty of travelers now say the platform comes with surprise fees, strict rules, and listings that feel nothing like the photos.

That shift has turned a simple booking app into a frequent source of frustration, especially when guests are asked to pay hotel-level prices for extra chores and awkward house rules. Hosts want control, travelers want value, and Airbnb sits in the middle while the complaints keep piling up.

These tweets capture that mood perfectly, and they do not hold back.

Airbnb began in 2007 when two San Francisco hosts invited three guests to their homes and has since expanded to 4 million hosts who have welcomed over 1 billion guests in almost every country on the planet.

The idea behind the platform was to provide affordable accommodation for travelers and an additional source of income for homeowners. However, since its creation, it has somehow shifted from the original idea, and now Airbnb listings are pricier than hotel rooms.

There are all kinds of expenses added to the price, along with long lists of rules. As long as there is demand, things are not going to change.

The renters are exploring the limits to see how far they can go. And by the looks of it, they are not going to stop any time soon.

But that’s just because we let them.

And that is exactly why so many travelers are fed up.
