Expert Explains Why Leaders Should Stop Complaining About Their Employees and Creating an Unpalatable Work Environment
Workers are not lazy; they want to work, but companies should stop making it difficult for them to do so.
When it comes to companies and workers, there is an eternal debate about "who is taking advantage of whom." Each side has its own story and its own reasons.
If you ask employers, they usually say it's hard to find good workers—those who would be entirely dedicated to their work assignments, who would give their best, and who would be happy with the provided working conditions and the opportunity to work with them and their companies. On the other side, workers complain that their work assignments are too difficult to accomplish during daily shifts.
Employees are overwhelmed with work, leaving them no time for their private lives, as they often have to take their work home and finish it before the new working day. When someone devotes all their free time to work, they naturally expect to be well compensated for their efforts and sacrifices, which is often not the case.
If we look at the statistics, we'll see that about 4.5 million workers quit their jobs in November last year. This cannot be a coincidence; this number indicates that we have had enough of jobs where our salary does not meet the effort we put in, and that we work to live better—not the opposite, as employers believe.
Augie Ray, a vice president at Gartner, researched user experience and posted his findings on LinkedIn. He explained why some companies should stop complaining about workers and stop blaming them for having difficulties hiring and retaining employees.
His focus was on leaders who do not strive to improve work conditions and the workplace environment and who do not take good care of their employees.
A member of the Anti-Work Reddit community saw Augie's detailed research and took the opportunity to share it with their peers. You can see Augie's entire post below.

He stated that he is completely pro-work, believing that working conditions should be better. However, many Reddit users shared their opinions and experiences related to his initial post, and here are some of their comments.

Augie says that people do want to work, but companies should improve themselves by retaining the talented individuals they have and enhancing their working experience. It is not uncommon for workers to be labeled as lazy or incompetent, so Augie wanted to emphasize that people enjoy working, but leaders should stop making it difficult for them.
