A child without an aunt in their life is incredibly sad. Every kid needs someone to take them to the arcade, buy them fast food when they are not allowed to eat it, and throw sleepover parties with the best music.

But it’s not all fun and games. “Fun aunts” and “wild aunts” are great to have around, but the most important role that an aunt can play, since the dawn of time, is that of a nephew’s best confidant. They can talk freely about things they are not yet prepared to discuss with their parents.

Amazing aunts switch between these roles as needed. If you need fun, you get fun; if you need a serious conversation, you will get a great listener and advisor. Aunts are amazing.

That is why they tend to go a little extra. It can sometimes look awesome, occasionally funny, but it is always “extra.”
