Every day, a large number of people fall victim to these scams. Part of the issue is the difficulty in distinguishing between legitimate and scam emails, which is due to the scammers' ability to imitate genuine communications.

In part, this is because so much genuine communication from real organizations is indistinguishable from a scam!
