Artist Illustrates Disney Characters With Modern Technologies, and These 12 Pics Will Make You Laugh and Wonder
Take a look and tell us what you think...
Disney characters usually feel timeless, but one artist gave them a very modern twist by dropping them into the smartphone era. The result is a playful mix of nostalgia, social media habits, and everyday tech that makes these familiar faces look strangely relatable.
In the series “Phone Fairy Fails,” Onefairyfail imagines what classic characters might look like if they were dealing with selfies, filters, and the kind of digital habits people see every day. The concept turns beloved icons into a funny mirror of modern life, and some of the scenes are so on point they feel almost too real.
Scroll through the illustrations and you may never look at Disney the same way again.

onefairyfail"As for the rest of the FairyFAILS (that’s how I name my creations), they were born while I was watching 'Dirty Dancing.' I thought to myself how many cult movies today’s generation has never watched. I thought combining famous scenes from these movies and shows with beloved cartoon characters in a humorous way could pay tribute to these films, encourage people to watch them, and, at the same time, evoke nostalgia in others."

When asked about his inspiration, the artist said: "Basically, when I started, I already had quite an active account where I’m known for my other work-which is surreal visual art. However, while my other artworks have a fairly melancholic vibe, once the pandemic started and quarantines became a never-ending situation, I felt that during this time, I should make more room for the lighter and more humorous side of me. So, I decided to focus more on my OneFairyFAIL account."
And if you love chaos in art, these 70 photos are the kind that force a brain restart.

"My entire concept of FairyFAILS is to pay tribute to classic cult movies and TV shows that I love. I'm a huge fan of memes and cartoons in general, so the idea of combining cartoons with famous classic movies was born. At first, my FairyFAILS were solely about that, but then one day, after seeing countless videos of girls going through the 'DIY bangs' phase during quarantine-I came up with the idea of Princess Ariel cutting her own bangs. That’s when my FairyFAILS started expanding to other concepts and scenarios, not just famous movie and TV show scenes."
That idea opened the door to even more ridiculous scenarios.
Onefairyfail shared this about her beginnings: "I’m originally a graphic designer, so I learned the basics of Photoshop during my graphic design studies, then I expanded my knowledge further on my own. My favorite part is bringing my ideas to life visually, especially when they turn out the way I imagined them in my head.
The hardest part is when the idea I had suddenly loses its appeal to me, or when the editing gets messy and doesn’t match the vision I had for it. I often find myself changing the concept or starting the edit again from scratch. I can be a horrible perfectionist sometimes."

Why did the artist choose Disney characters?
"I think it's because cartoons and Disney characters, in particular, are so magical and seemingly perfect that it’s amusing to think of them as regular people going through realistic and not-so-fun experiences, just like we all do in real life, and how they react to these situations."
She also shared where she gets her inspiration: "I always come up with my ideas based on either personal experiences or something I see while scrolling through social media that I find relatable."
