Disney Owes Us The Answers To These 12 Important Questions About Beauty And The Beast
Unfortunately, some of them still don't have answers from Disney.
Beauty and the Beast has been a Disney favorite for decades, but the movie still leaves viewers with plenty of lingering questions.
From Beast’s real name to the mystery of the enchanted castle, the film’s biggest plot holes have fueled fan theories for years. Even after the 2017 live-action remake, some of those details still feel oddly unexplained.
Here are the Beauty and the Beast questions Disney fans keep asking, and the answers are not always as magical as the movie itself.
1. What is Beast's real name?
Disney states that Beast's real name is Prince Adam. But when you think about it, there's no way that people would forget the name of the heir to the throne, even after he's cursed.
And if he's a prince, where are the king and queen? Why did they leave their child behind in a castle with only servants to care for him?

2. Who would punish an 11-year-old boy for refusing to let a stranger in?
According to the plot, it has been 10 years since the curse was placed. It was also mentioned that the rose will bloom until the prince's 21st birthday.
In other words, he was only 11 years old when the "good fairy" knocked on his door disguised as an old woman. The poor child was cursed for not letting a stranger in.
So think about it. Who's the real villain here?
3. Why did Belle open the door if she can't stand Gaston?
She doesn't like Gaston and is aware that he's only trying to woo her. Belle could simply pretend that she's napping to avoid all that harassment.
The questions only get stranger from here.
4. Who are these faceless characters?
When Prince Adam was cursed for following what children are supposed to do when encountering a stranger, his servants turned into inanimate objects.
But how come the others are faceless? Did the castle's inanimate objects become sentient beings?
5. What's up with this time-traveling portrait?
Look at the timeline, and you'll see that Prince Adam was just a child when the witch punished him and cast the spell. Now look at that portrait.
Why on earth does the young prince look like the young man at the end of the movie? We either have an adult-looking 11-year-old or a time traveler in the painting.
6. What happens if Belle touches The Enchanted Rose?
Beast went mad after catching Belle trying to touch the flower. Disney never clarified what would have happened if Belle had successfully laid a finger on it.
Will he die, or will the curse never be undone? We'll probably never know.
7. How did Belle manage to get a heavy and unconscious Beast on the horse?
You've never seen her lift anything, have you? Just how was that possible?
That part has puzzled fans for years.
This is similar to the cat-sitting feud where someone wants to keep a friend’s cat.
8. How did Chip come to be?
The little fella is not even 10 years old. So did a teapot give birth to him?
Who's his father? If the curse has the ability to freeze their age, then Chip should mentally be older than he appears in the film.
It also seems that all the cups are Mrs. Potts' children, and Chip is the favorite child.
9. Is Belle stupid?
With all the books she's read, you'd expect that Belle is the smartest of the Disney Princesses. She's into science and loves inventions.
But after encountering the only man in a castle and singing a song that foreshadows meeting Prince Charming, how can she not realize that Beast is, in fact, human and royalty? Unbelievable!
10. Whose clothes are Belle and Beast wearing?
They fit them well too. It makes you wonder, right?
11. Why didn't Belle just say she'd return?
All Belle needed to do was reassure Beast. But she didn't.
12. How come people didn't know there's a monster living nearby?
It's only been 10 years, not a century. What kind of amnesia did these people have?
After rewatching Beauty and the Beast over and over again, all you'll end up with are more plot holes and questions.
We know the film is already three decades old. Then there's also a live-action film.
The least Disney could do is answer the questions we have. Sadly, all we'll ever have are fan theories.
Disney still owes fans a few answers.
