Monstropolis might bring eyeball ramen to Disney World, but Disney is still testing the gross-out factor
Disney previewed possible Monstropolis dishes at Hollywood Studios, including eyeball ramen and a frozen Blort, for the land’s 2027 debut.
Disney has offered its first real taste of what Monstropolis could serve at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and the early ideas lean heavily into monster humor. The catch is that none of the food is locked in yet, so the most talked-about items are still menu concepts rather than final orders.
A first look at Monstropolis food
Disney shared early menu concepts for two Monsters, Inc. restaurants planned for the new land opening at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in 2027: Harryhausen’s, a table-service location, and Archie’s Scare Pig Pizza, a quick-service counter.
At Harryhausen’s, the current idea includes ramen built on traditional Japanese flavors, with tonkotsu broth and alkaline noodles, then given monster-style details such as fishcake cut to resemble eyeballs and green eggs. Disney also indicated the restaurant will go beyond sushi. The location is based on the upscale restaurant from Monsters, Inc. where Mike takes Celia for her birthday, and the park version is set to feature the film’s head sushi chef as a new Audio-Animatronic figure working in the middle of the dining room with eight tentacles.
Over at Archie’s Scare Pig Pizza, the beverage team is exploring a purple frozen version of Blort, the soda seen in Monsters University, topped with Scream Apple Foam. Archie, the restaurant’s namesake, is the six-legged mascot of Fear Tech, and Disney is positioning the location as a neighborhood pizza spot where monster college students gather.

What is final, what is not, and when it matters
The biggest detail for guests to keep in mind is that Disney presented these dishes as ideas still being developed. The company described the food as items being explored, and even the Blort drink was framed as a possibility rather than a confirmed final product.
Disney’s teams said they kept weighing how far to push the monster theme, asking questions about details like slurping, chewing, and whether a dish had too many eyeballs, while still aiming for familiar flavors with unusual twists.
These plans matter to future Hollywood Studios visitors because the first wave of Monstropolis is scheduled for 2027. That phase is also set to include the Glob Theater, a Monsters University Alumni Club seating area, and a shop called the Scareporium. The Monsters, Inc. door vault roller coaster is planned to open later, in 2028, and Disney has not announced exact opening dates.
The restaurants are also taking over existing spaces. Harryhausen’s is going into the former Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano building, while Archie’s Scare Pig Pizza will replace PizzeRizzo. Disney has also updated concept art for the Glob Theater lobby, swapping monster-themed chandeliers for more classic ones and replacing a Silence of the Cribs poster with an advertisement for a concert by an octopus musician.
