Tower of Terror Fans Are Buzzing After Mark Silverman Hints at a Possible Disney World Update
Mark Silverman, the voice behind Tower of Terror's Rod Serling narration, teased a possible Disney project. No ride changes are confirmed.
Tower of Terror fans have a new mystery to obsess over. Mark Silverman, the performer who supplies Rod Serling's voice for the Walt Disney World attraction, shared that he visited Walt Disney Imagineering in California, and one short reply has sparked fresh speculation about what Disney could be planning for the Hollywood Tower Hotel.
A familiar Tower of Terror voice set off the chatter
The attention started after Silverman posted about his Imagineering visit on Instagram. In a comment exchange, a follower asked whether he might be recording something new for Disney. Silverman answered, "well.... could be."
That was enough to get fans wondering whether Tower of Terror could be getting new narration, an added story element, or some other update tied to one of Walt Disney World's most recognizable thrill rides. For more than three decades, the attraction has sent guests into the eerie Hollywood Tower Hotel with a preshow built around Serling's unmistakable style and the strange events tied to the hotel.
Silverman has been part of that experience since the attraction's original development. Because Serling had died nearly 20 years before the ride opened, Disney turned to Silverman to recreate his voice, blending his performance with existing footage of Serling. The result became one of the best known preshows at Walt Disney World.

What it could mean, and what has not changed
Disney has not announced any update to Tower of Terror's story or ride experience. That means nothing has changed for guests right now, and the attraction is still operating as usual.
Silverman's visit could point to new dialogue for the ride, a smaller creative assignment, or something unrelated to the Florida attraction. The timing stands out because Disney is already doing work on the Hollywood Tower Hotel exterior. Throughout 2026, crews have been refurbishing the outside of the building, with scaffolding appearing around different sections.
Those projects do not confirm any interior changes, but they have kept attention on the attraction during a year when fans are already watching it closely. Tower of Terror has largely held onto its original identity even as Disney's Hollywood Studios has changed around it.
There is precedent for the concept evolving without losing its Twilight Zone roots. Disneyland Paris has added supernatural story touches and updated experiences while keeping the same overall theme. The Florida version, unlike the former California ride that became Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission BREAKOUT!, still centers on the original Hollywood Tower Hotel story.
If Silverman is recording new material, fans will likely see it as a sign that Disney wants to keep that connection intact. For now, though, the only confirmed development is the tease itself.
