Milwaukee Bus Driver Goes Beyond Her Duty To Reunite Two Dogs With Their Family Just In Time For The Holidays
It's the reunion we've all been waiting for!
Jamie Grabowski was just finishing her Milwaukee County Transit System route when she spotted two dogs wandering near the road late at night. Instead of driving past, she stopped, worried they could be hit by traffic or freeze in the dropping temperatures.
With the help of dispatchers, police, and the Milwaukee Area Domestic Animal Control Commission, Jamie got the pair safely off the street and into care. The dogs had escaped from their family’s yard 2.5 miles away, and their owners had been searching for them all night.
By the time the story was over, the rescue had turned into a holiday reunion nobody in Milwaukee would forget.
Their owners extended their gratitude for Jamie, the police officers, the MADACC, and everyone involved in the return of their prodigal pups just in time for the holidays.

Not to mention the danger of passing vehicles hitting them

Jamie says she’s so happy that she was in the right place at the right time to help the adventurous pair.

She also jokingly attributed her successful rescue to her talent for “dog whispering.”

Jamie is an avid animal lover and has dogs of her own.

She can be heard on video while playing with the escape artists, saying that her dogs will be very mad at her when she gets home since she will smell like the two of them.

That part of the story made the rescue feel even more personal.
It also echoes the AITA debate over refusing to return a lost dog that bonded with you.
Thank heavens for these dedicated public servants

People clearly loved how quickly she stepped in.
It really was a group effort that wouldn't have happened if Jamie hadn't seen the dogs and helped them.
Oh Dear
Apparently, the people of Milwaukee County can sleep soundly at night knowing that there are plenty of people like Jamie looking out for them and their furry buddies.

Without Jamie and other members of the community, those dogs could have easily gotten hurt. Thankfully, they opened their hearts and selflessly helped reunite a family.
This touching rescue story is enough to make any adult cry. All dog owners in the world can only hope that there are others like Jamie around when their doggies decide to go on a little adventure.
Some holiday rescues just hit differently.
Was it WIBTA to rehome a shared rescue dog because a partner kept neglecting it?
