Girl Forgets To Introduce Herself In An Intro Text And Ends Up Taking Someone Else's Identity
Lesson learned: Be extra polite and introduce yourself first every time.
Honestly, in today's texting game, it can be so easy to mistake anyone for anyone. Here you are, giving out your number to a few people here and there, hoping to find somebody decent to talk to, and then people just hit you up in the next few days with a plain "hey."
Some people are actually decent, and they follow up that "hey" with a "this is ____ by the way" from the movies, a party, or whatever. Some people, though, seem to just expect that you'd know who they are by that one "hi" or "how are you" without any other clue to help you out.
While that second type of person can be infuriating and can easily ruin your mood for texting, there is an exception to that group. Accidents do happen, and maybe with the excitement of it all, people can forget to introduce themselves in that intro text, like our dear Redditor right here.
Everything was going just fine and dandy with this girl, but one intro text and a forgotten introduction kind of put their getting-to-know-each-other stage into a little turmoil. To put it simply, the girl she was talking to for almost two weeks thought she was a completely different person.

It certainly is a funny mistake and one that can be easily fixed, so there's really nothing to worry about for either of them. Changing their contact names is probably going to do the trick.
Many other Redditors also found the entire experience entertaining. Some even offered tips to prevent it in the future.

If they do end up as just friends, it still makes for a pretty great story

If it were a movie, she probably would have just become Julia

The best part is they kept texting each other because they genuinely liked talking to one another

It's easy to make mistakes like these. At least for these two, though, it ended on a pretty good note.
They seem to have good chemistry, and we're honestly hoping the second date went well. If they didn't end up in a romantic relationship, then they'd still be pretty great friends, by the look of it.
