Mary LaMorte did what plenty of grandmothers would never dare to do, she ranked all 10 of her grandchildren and posted the results for TikTok to see.

The playful family competition centers on humor, behavior, and a magnetic board that has been tracking the grandkids since 2015. Dan LaMorte, one of Mary’s grandsons, shared the video and showed how quickly a good ranking can change, especially when Nanny decides she is not impressed.

This ranking has been ongoing for a while now. The board was a gift from her own grandkids back in 2015, and they all placed a magnetic photo of themselves on it. It's funny that the board has a big, fat “Family” word on it, but there’s still competition.

Dan explained to TikTok, where people followed, how the ranking system worked for them. Of course, he was proud of his current ranking, but he is somewhat worried about it since he just got two new tattoos.

Sadly, Nanny does not really approve of tattoos. Tattoos are cool and also works of art, but when Nanny found out about Dan’s tattoos, he instantly dropped from 4th… to 10th!

Nanny explains how to get promoted: visiting her, having kids, and keeping in touch with her are some of the things that maintain their ranking or, even better, help them reach the top.

“My grandson just had a new baby, so he goes to the top because it’s a very good, happy moment,” she said. “And I’m not even going to get into demotions. Tattoos? That’ll do it every time.”

Currently, the top two, Dan’s cousins, are a veterinarian and a dentist, respectively. The family also agreed not to include the great-grandchildren in the system because the grandkids were afraid of dropping down or getting removed from the ranking.

Dan says that this competitive yet fun activity keeps their family together. Their activities have always been full of jokes and roasting one another, but they all enjoy talking.

It was never a competition to begin with. This is just one of the many ways Dan and his nine other competitors (kidding, his cousins and siblings) thought of spending time with their grandparents and family.
