I (28F) have been taking care of my friend Kayla's (26F) cat, Whiskers, for the past month. Kayla had to travel for work and asked me to look after Whiskers temporarily.

However, during this time, Whiskers and I have formed a strong bond. I didn't realize how much I would grow attached to the cat.

Not too long ago, Kayla returned and asked me to return Whiskers. When she came to pick her up, I just couldn't bring myself to hand Whiskers back.
