Then, during a recent night out, OP’s best friend’s boyfriend made advances on her partner, even though he already knows they’re together. OP’s partner shut it down immediately and came clean fast, but the damage is still real, because now OP is stuck between protecting her peace and not turning her friend’s vacation into a public blowup.

Now OP is wondering if canceling last minute is the only way to stop this from poisoning the whole trip.

Original Post

So I'm (27F) planning a vacation with my best friend (26F) and her boyfriend (28M) to a tropical island. We've been looking forward to this trip for months, and the excitement was through the roof.

However, last night, my partner (30M) dropped a b**b on me. He confessed that during a recent night out, my best friend's boyfriend made advances on him, even though he knows we're together.

My partner shut it down immediately and came clean to me as soon as possible. I'm shocked and hurt that my friend's boyfriend would do this, especially knowing we're a couple.

I feel betrayed and don't want to go on vacation with them anymore, but canceling would cause a huge stir. I don't want to ruin the trip for my friend, but I also don't want to sweep this under the rug.

So WIBTA if I decided to cancel the vacation last minute because of this uncomfortable situation?

It also echoes the partner who planned a secret solo getaway and made the couples trip awkward.

That “he confessed” moment is exactly where the vibe flips, because OP goes from excited vacation planner to hurt and betrayed in one night out.

The complication is that OP is not just dealing with her partner’s honesty, she’s dealing with her best friend’s boyfriend being the one who crossed the line.

If OP keeps the trip, she has to share an island with the same guy who hit on her partner, while her best friend tries to act like everything is fine.

And if OP cancels, it’s not just an awkward conversation, it’s a huge stir with her best friend and her boyfriend all tied up together.</p>

OP might be happier taking the vacation without the person who thought he could flirt his way into trouble.
