Some people mean well, then manage to step right into a backlash anyway. That is exactly what happened when Indian businessman Anand Mahindra shared a cartoon about the obstacles women face in the workforce.
The image, titled Meritocracy by Peruvian cartoonist Carlin, struck a nerve after Mahindra linked it to his own experience of babysitting his grandson. What he saw as a thoughtful reflection quickly turned into a debate about whether he was comparing a short stint at home to the daily realities women have dealt with for generations.
