Kids Who Endured Childhood With No Siblings Share Their Sad, Yet Funny, Experiences
Being an only child certainly has its pros and cons.
In my entire class, there was only one other kid who was also an only child, just like me.
Luckily for adult me, my husband was also an only child, so we resonate with many of the same experiences when we discuss our upbringing.
Even more so, we have multiple children; thus, our kids will never know the 'talk' you'd hear when you told someone you didn't have any brothers or sisters.
We heard the same questions over and over again.
Who do you play with? Myself.
How do you get away with anything? I don't.
I can certainly say that independence was hardwired into us, at least in my husband and me.
Now, as an adult with friends who have kids, I don't think I know any who have just been one and done either.
Only children might be a rare commodity, period.
