Kelly Rowland Defended Chris Brown At The AMA's And People Aren't Happy
Brown has a long and sordid history of violent behavior, which has irreparably damaged his reputation.
Chris Brown’s win at the American Music Awards sparked instant backlash, and Kelly Rowland ended up right in the middle of it. As she announced his name for Favorite Male R&B Artist, the crowd’s reaction made it clear that not everyone was ready to celebrate the moment.
Rowland pushed back at the booing, while Brown’s long history continued to fuel the conversation around his comeback. The reaction online was just as split, with some people furious at Kelly’s support and others arguing that Brown deserved recognition for his music.
Then Lizzo’s name entered the mix, and the whole debate got even messier. Read on.

And, as it turns out, Kelly isn't Chris' only celebrity fan. A starstruck Lizzo asked the singer for a photo backstage last year.
The singer even referred to Brown as her "favorite person."

What are your thoughts on Kelly Rowland's support for Chris Brown? Is the past in the past, or should Chris still be paying for his former bad behavior?
Violence is never okay, but let's be honest; the fact that Chris's victim is one of the most beloved pop stars of our time really doesn't help his case either. Rihanna has a massive fan base, and they are not going to be quick to forgive the way Chris treated her, so the R&B singer has some hard work ahead of him if he truly wants to redeem himself.
As always, we would love to hear your opinions on this. You can share your thoughts with us in the comment section.
It sounds messy, too, in the AITA where a friend’s partner’s disrespect makes someone consider skipping the wedding.
