Redditors Applaud Man For Calling Out A Fellow Male Coworker For The Way He Spoke About His Wife
We honestly need a lot more of this kind of man.
It's already 2022, and yet, there are still plenty of people out there who cling to the old ways of society. By old ways, we mean those beliefs and behaviors that were tolerated then but are being called out now.
One of those beliefs is that women should take care of the household work and the kids because the man is the breadwinner of the home. This is despite the fact that most women, or mothers, are actually also working and have their own careers.
It's an unfair assumption and belief, especially nowadays when women are just as educated as men, just as capable of working and maintaining careers, and just as able to be parents while doing so. Unfortunately, there are still some people who cling to this notion.
They're late to the trend of equal parenting, and some are even proud of it, as in the case of this AmITheAsshole story. User throwawayBrandon7's coworker is stuck in the belief that his wife should be serving him and his children nonstop just because he's the one earning the money.
While their other male coworkers comforted this guy, throwawayBrandon7 thankfully called him out on it, and yet, he was still made out to be the villain. Read on and find out what happened.

Some shirt not being IRONED? The horror.

Seriously, the audacity of this guy and those other men to think that Brandon's words were justified. What in the world?
As it seems, the rest of Reddit agrees with OP and is completely appalled at how Brandon spoke about his wife. Check out the best comments.
We need more good men to call out their peers for this disgusting attitude

He should be the one working on an apology for that behavior of his
megZesq
Or how about having him try out the weekly marathon of household chores that should be divided in a household with kids?
Cli4ordtheBRD
Even taking care of just one kid is challenging enough; don't they realize that, or are they even using their brains?
Stacey144
Taking care of the home is a full-time job in and of itself.
RecommendationBrief9
She's definitely taking care of four kids, alright.
kjones100
How about swapping roles for a lifetime? That would teach him.

Any wife would be proud to have a husband like this.
LeechesInCream
Trust us, every woman out there with good sense appreciates this dude's actions.
dont-tell-me-2-smile
That breadwinner excuse is pure trash and should not even be a valid excuse anywhere.
JoJoMamaPlays
She shouldn't stay with a man who doesn't respect her or appreciate any of her efforts.
rhyslynnt
He's taking advantage of her, and he's bragging about it; that's what he's doing.

Birds of the same feather flock together.

Congrats on hating on the person you chose to build a life with, and thanks for telling the world what kind of person you are.
ChaoticNudeWhale
Please never stop being an advocate for women and equality.
nsfwns
That jerk of a husband of hers doesn't deserve her.
Littlelady0410
There's nothing wrong with just stating the facts here.
Munchkins_nDragons
See the injustice here?
dontknowhatonamethis
So he's basically telling OP that he's right, but he should still apologize because it hurt his feelings?
Lumpy_Ingenuity1287
Great job indeed!

We definitely need more guys like OP. Having guys like him who know what their peers are doing wrong and are calling them out on it is so important in this fight against misogyny.
Hopefully, more guys are educated and raised right so that future generations won't have to deal with idiots like Brandon. And hopefully, Brandon gets what he deserves.
