Overworked Employee Gets Marched Out of His Office for Working His Proper Hours Instead of Working Overtime
The managers had to get their hands dirty...
Managers and business owners who exploit their workers have always existed, and it’s nothing new. They are opportunists who take advantage of our need to pay the rent, bills, and feed our families.
However, there comes a point when you simply have to say that enough is enough. This is the story of a man who stood up.
He looked at the charging bull, and the bull blinked. His story is just one of many we can relate to.
The important thing is that he finally understood how valuable he was to the company. Unfortunately, many people don’t, and they endure maltreatment and overworking silently. That is not okay.
OP shared his story hoping it would inspire others to realize their value to their employers and start acting accordingly. If the managers don’t see it, make them see it!
Business owners should view their workers not just as an expense but as a valuable resource and an investment. If they expect employees to care about the company and help it thrive, they also have to give something in return.
Occasional pizza parties and bringing donut baskets to the workplace are simply not enough. Things have to change. And they will if we read carefully and take notes...
Our OP washes tankers like these
WOIMSweb (not the actual photo)And this is his story
u/Dcwiker05He was hired as a temp
u/Dcwiker05
But got a permanent position because he was good at his job
u/Dcwiker05
It was a demanding job, so newcomers would often quit after a short time
u/Dcwiker05
And the OP had to work both shifts
u/Dcwiker05
And the workload was increasing...
u/Dcwiker05
OP had to work two shifts and sometimes more
u/Dcwiker05
He caused an accident because he was overworked and tired...
u/Dcwiker05
He continued to work long shifts
u/Dcwiker05
The managers didn't want to listen to him. 'Do what you are hired to do'
u/Dcwiker05
And that's what he did - he punched out after the first shift was over...
u/Dcwiker05
The next morning...
u/Dcwiker05
It turns out that the managers had to work the second shift
u/Dcwiker05
OP realized his position
u/Dcwiker05
And made his stand
u/Dcwiker05
The managers agreed unwillingly...
u/Dcwiker05
OP spent another year at the company, and he was the highest-paid worker in his department...
u/Dcwiker05
People loved what OP did
u/Dcwiker05
People should fight for their rights
u/Dcwiker05
Because the workload was just insane
u/Dcwiker05
Repeat cycle.

People wished OP a nice vacation

Managers are idiots

We can almost imagine OP's employers posting job ads and complaining about how nobody wants to work and that it's impossible to find a good worker. And that's the type—they overwork their employees, neglect their demands, and then can't understand why they leave.
So are they just pretending, or are they really so self-absorbed that it makes them oblivious to the world around them? We hope that OP has found a job he likes, one where he won't be treated like a slave who should only work and keep his mouth shut.
Also, we hope he enjoyed his vacation with his kid and girlfriend.
