Undergrad Gets A Professor In Trouble After He Failed Student During A Group Project
This student deserves more after going through all of that effort.
Why is it so easy for professors to fail a student? They even have the audacity to give students low grades after they have worked so hard in their classes, tests, and projects.
Teachers should be willing to pass students who deserve it. Their education is the stepping stone to their success in the real world.
But some professors simply aren't understanding of their students' struggles. The undergrad we're looking at today is unfortunately unlucky to have such a professor.
One of the challenges students face is getting their groupmates to cooperate on a project. We've seen it before, and we've experienced it ourselves.
We follow up with the members countless times, only to end up taking all the matters into our own hands. Perhaps they have contributed to the project, but only at the last minute.
They do this for the sake of getting their names listed on the project. Most of the time, the teacher isn't even aware of everyone's contributions.
A redditor by the name of WreckMeSenpai faced great challenges in his speech class. On top of flying solo for a project that was supposed to be done by a group, he received a grade of 0.
Despite his best efforts, the professor did not even bother to ask what happened to him and his groupmates. Fortunately, while being sneaky, he found a way to turn things upside down.
Group projects are sometimes the worst of all coursework.

WreckMeSenpai
The group members won't bother doing the project.

So what's the next best thing to do? Tell the professor about it.
WreckMeSenpai
He did everything by himself.
WreckMeSenpai
Despite his best efforts, he received a failing grade.
The professor is so unfair! Clearly, he did not even bother listening to the student's plight.
This undergrad had no choice but to take matters into his own hands once again. He reported the professor to the higher-ups.
WreckMeSenpai
The next semester, the professor is no longer there.
WreckMeSenpai
The audacity of this professor!
WreckMeSenpai
Many redditors have experienced the same thing with their groupmates.

Going impromptu
Worthie
This is one reasonable professor.
srentiln
People who fly solo with group work deserve such a grade.
ItsyuhboiBen
Teachers need to be understanding of students who are left hanging by their group members.

You will be impressed by such an educator.

What matters in the end is that the student learned what she needed.

We agree!
aben9woaha
What's the point of a group project if most people would just go solo?

"Where's Paul?"

Even the professor could feel the awkwardness.

We're wondering too.

When half of the group members didn't bother with the work.

Nice one, instructor!

Of course, everyone wants to distribute the work. But at the same time, not everyone is cooperative.

You're probably lucky if you have such a genius on your team.

It's easy to catch who's slacking.
Marawal
If a slacker doesn't bother to do anything, it does show.

Why are they even upset?
critterfluffy
You'd be tired of such a group member, even if you're not pregnant.
DonutHolesIsntAThing
It ended up with a project that includes some mumbo jumbo. Yikes!
DonutHolesIsntAThing
Some professors are probably used to it.
Mackheath1
Sometimes, you don't understand the audacity of these people who didn't even bother with the work.
p4ndrr
Serves them right!
HegelsBikeMechanic
Thank goodness this professor is understanding.
Squidwards_m0m
Group projects are simply the worst coursework when you have group members who won't cooperate.
To add insult to injury, some professors do not consider the struggles of their students. The undergrad who shared his experience on Reddit did the right thing.
At the very least, he was able to salvage his grade. Do you agree with complaining to the higher-ups when a professor isn't understanding of a student's situation?
