Man Realizes His Name Was Not Actually His Real Name After 22 Years, And It's All Because He Tried To Give A Plasma Donation
Fooled for over two decades with his own name!
What's in a name? For some, it does not necessarily matter what name they have been bestowed with, but for most people, it's everything.
It's their identity, after all. But what happens when the name you believed for years to be yours is actually different from your actual name?
This is somewhat what happened to a Redditor under the handle u/pacergramfitnesstest, who posted under the subreddit TIFU (Today I F*cked Up) about a certain situation he found himself in—which involved the revelation that his name wasn't actually what he believed it to be for 22 years. It all started when he tried to make plasma donations due to the skyrocketing value it has because of COVID-19, and when he was filling out forms, the personnel began to notice a strange discrepancy between his social security number and his actual ID.
After that, he talked to his mother and asked what this whole name fiasco was about—turns out the second middle name he actually liked was just added to his name a few months after he was born because his grandmother gave him a hideous middle name! His birth certificate only contained one middle name, and he felt so betrayed after two decades of living.
The people of Reddit are intrigued as to what this hideous middle name actually is, and their comments on the post are hilarious. Check out the highlights of the thread below!

People who have gone through this realization have definitely gained an additional and significant amount of stress in their lives, what with the changes needed in documents because they had their name wrong their whole life. For OP, however, it truly is unfortunate that the hideous nickname, allegedly Cooterbob, turned out to be the only one on his birth certificate!
