Selena Gomez Responds to Online Drama with Friend and Kidney Donor Francia Raisa

It didn't take long for eagle-eyed fans to notice that Raisa commented, "Interesting," on the post before quickly deleting it.

Some people don’t recognize a favor, and this Selena Gomez and Francia Raisa situation is proving that point in real time. The two have been close for years, and Raisa even donated a kidney to Selena back in 2017, the kind of act that usually turns into lifelong loyalty.

So when E! News posted a quote from Gomez on Instagram about Taylor Swift being her “only friend in the industry,” drama lit up fast. Raisa responded with a quick “Interesting,” then deleted it, and fans immediately noticed that Raisa is no longer following Selena on Instagram.

After all that, one careless caption could still spark a huge rift, and here’s the part that makes it so messy.

Raisa has been friends with Gomez for many years and even donated one of her kidneys to Selena back in 2017.

The drama began to unfold when E! News shared a quote from Gomez on its Instagram about Taylor Swift being her "only friend in the industry."

It didn't take long for eagle-eyed fans to notice that Raisa commented, "Interesting," on the post before quickly deleting it.

It's understandable that Francia might take offense to such a comment. After all, they have been friends for 15 years, and she donated her kidney to Selena.

At the time, Selena publicly thanked Francia for her kind act, writing, "There aren't words to describe how I can possibly thank my beautiful friend Francia Raisa. She gave me the ultimate gift and sacrifice by donating her kidney to me."

"I am incredibly blessed," Selena continued. "I love you so much, sis."

After the E! News post, fans were quick to point out that Francia is no longer following Selena on Instagram.

When Selena responded to a TikTok about the drama, saying, "Sorry I didn't mention every person I know," fans immediately screenshotted and reshared it.

After everything they've been through, it would be very sad if Francia and Selena can't get past this. But, hey, at least she still has Taylor!

That kidney donation from Raisa to Gomez in 2017 is the backdrop that makes her “Interesting” comment on the E! News post hit way harder.

Like the AITA post where a best friend asked for an emergency loan, and the other person said no, Francia’s “Interesting” comment raised eyebrows.

Then the internet zoomed in on one detail, Raisa deleting her comment and pulling back on Instagram by not following Selena anymore.

When Selena replied to a TikTok with, “Sorry I didn’t mention every person I know,” fans immediately screenshot it and turned it into fresh fuel.

And now the question hanging over all of this is whether Gomez meant it harmlessly, or whether Raisa felt dismissed after everything she sacrificed.

What do you make of all this? Do you think Selena was being dismissive of Francia with her comment, or did Francia overreact entirely?

Either way, we hope they can make up and repair their relationship. They've been through too much together to throw all those years of friendship away.

Nobody wants to see a friendship like Selena Gomez and Francia Raisa’s get ruined over a single “only friend” line.
