I (28M) have two close friends, Emily and Alex. Emily has been my friend since high school, and Alex is a more recent friend I've known for about a year.
The tricky part is that Emily used to date Alex before breaking up about six months ago. They were both devastated, but Alex seemed to take it especially hard.
However, just last week, I accidentally found out a big secret about Alex's new partner that I think Emily deserves to know. This secret could be a deal-breaker for their relationship, and I felt torn about whether to tell Emily.
On one hand, I want to be a good friend and support her, but on the other hand, I don't want to meddle in Alex's new relationship. After going back and forth, I eventually decided to tell Emily the secret, thinking it was important for her to make an informed decision.
