Should I Sabotage My Sisters Vacation Plans After Her Betrayal?
WIBTA for sabotaging my sister's family vacation due to feeling excluded? Read how OP contemplates revenge or addressing the betrayal directly.
When family vacations turn sour, the emotional fallout can be intense. A 28-year-old woman discovers her sister's betrayal just days before a long-anticipated beach trip, leaving her feeling isolated and hurt.
As she grapples with the choice of sabotaging the plans or confronting her sister, the situation becomes a complex web of familial dynamics and personal insecurities. How will she navigate this painful revelation?
So I'm (28F) and my sister (33F) had been planning this epic family vacation to the beach for months. We were all psyched - booking accommodations, planning activities, the whole shebang.
However, a week before the trip, I accidentally overheard my sister discussing a secret plan to exclude me from some of the beachside activities with our cousins, claiming I'd be a 'downer'. To say I was hurt is an understatement.
For background, growing up, I've always felt like the odd one out in our family. I struggle with anxiety and tend to be more reserved, which sometimes leads them to overlook me in social settings.
This vacation was supposed to be a chance to bond and create happy memories. Now, here's the dilemma - I have all the reservation details and could easily make changes or even cancel some activities without them knowing.
The thought of being intentionally left out hurts so much that I'm tempted to mess with their plans. So, WIBTA if I took revenge by ruining or altering some of the pre-planned activities to show them how it feels to be excluded, even if it means disrupting the entire vacation dynamic, or should I take the high road and address this betrayal directly with my sister?
I honestly don't know if I'm wrong here. Really need outside perspective.

This person thinks she's being too harsh.
This is similar to the couple struggling over a pet adoption without mutual agreement.
