"The Mind’s Eye" - Discover the Top 40 Stunning Images Chosen For 2023 All About Photo Magazine Awards
Our world is an amazing place
All About Photo is thrilled to reveal the triumphant entries of the 2023 All About Photo Awards - The Mind's Eye, highlighting the finest individual photographs from international photographers.
Photographic virtuosos from across the globe, encompassing both professionals and hobbyists, contributed their distinct visions, vying for global acclaim as the forthcoming Photographer of the Year, $10,000 in cash rewards, and a feature in the print version of the 'Special Edition All About Photo Awards 2023'.
A panel of eight esteemed judges, including Lisa Kristine (humanitarian photographer), Harvey Stein (photographer, teacher, lecturer, author, and curator), Ann Jastrab (Executive Director, Center for Photographic Art, Carmel, CA), Balwin Lee (photographer, teacher), Marcus Yam (Los Angeles Times Foreign Correspondent and staff photographer, Winner of the All About Photo Awards 2022), Francesca Hummler (photographer, Community Manager at Der Greif Magazine), Kenneth Dickerman (photographer, Photo Assignment Editor for the Washington Post), and Sandrine Hermand-Grisel (photographer, Founder & Editor of All About Photo), painstakingly sifted through thousands of submissions from every corner of the world.
Entering its 8th year, the All About Photo Awards - The Mind's Eye has established itself as a pivotal platform for unearthing fresh talent and lauding exceptional photographers. From a total of 18 countries spread over five continents, the jury chose 39 winners.
The majority of the entries this year were in color, which is also reflected in four out of the five top-ranked images. A significant number of submissions depicted the world's devastating events, such as the war in Ukraine, yet only two of the 45 highlighted images focused on this conflict.
The jury seemed inclined towards more uplifting imagery. The selection this year veers towards less emotionally charged content, emphasizing instead the importance of robust aesthetic appeal.
