The OP jokingly asked a question he shouldn't have, and it led to an answer he wasn't expecting - hidden traumas. The structure and function of the brain are affected in a variety of ways by traumatic stress and traumatic events.

Trauma can take many different forms, ranging from physical trauma like any kind of violence to mental trauma like bullying, verbal abuse, and gaslighting. Not everyone who experiences a terrible situation will develop and adjust in a healthy way.

Some people are haunted by their trauma, while others will do all it takes to hide their feelings and ideas related to it. Posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is one of the mental health and drug use illnesses that some people may experience.

Even those who believe they are unaffected by their trauma may have underlying symptoms that are hidden from the general world. The OP wanted to know more about what his girlfriend meant with her reply but it didn't end well.

Following traumatic events, our brains change in ways that impact our emotions, mental processes, and ability to regulate fear. While some people may be able to deal better than others, most people will experience at least a few minor underlying changes in their daily perceptions and mental processes.

The OP only wanted to share in his GF's pain if there was any but it seems as if he was intruding rather than being caring. Leave your verdicts in the comments section below and don't forget to share as well.
