Magic Kingdom train returns early, but two Walt Disney World Railroad stations are still unavailable
The Walt Disney World Railroad is running again at Magic Kingdom as of Oct. 29, but it remains in shuttle mode with stations still closed.
Magic Kingdom visitors got an earlier-than-expected change on Thursday: the Walt Disney World Railroad is back in service. The attraction reopened on October 29 after a multi-week refurbishment, beating the operating calendar date that had pointed to October 30 and returning before Disney’s broader November window.
The railroad had been closed since late September for work on the track, not the locomotives. Crews were seen replacing track at the Main Street, U.S.A. station earlier this month, and guests can now ride again.
That does not mean the full traditional loop is back. Disney’s website currently lists both the Main Street, U.S.A. station and the Fantasyland station as closed, so the return comes with the same limited operating pattern many fans have been watching for.

What the reopening actually looks like
For now, the Walt Disney World Railroad continues to run in shuttle mode. In the clip below, the railroad is shown operating in that format.
The limited setup is tied to ongoing construction tied to Piston Peak National Park and Disney Villains Land. So while the headline change is simple, the experience is more specific: the train is running again as of October 29, but not with all stations available and not in its usual full-park operation.
For parkgoers planning a Magic Kingdom day, the practical takeaway is that the railroad is once again an option, but guests should expect station closures and shuttle service rather than the complete route.
