Disneyland’s New Jack Skellington Trader Sam’s Mug Starts in the App Before Sunrise

Disneyland’s next Trader Sam’s collectible is not a walk-up purchase. Guests who want the new Jack Skellington mug inspired by Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas will need to be ready in the Disneyland app early on Tuesday, October 20.

What changes on October 20

The limited-edition mug is coming to the Disneyland Resort through Trader Sam’s at the Disneyland Hotel, and Disney says mobile order in the Disneyland app is the only way to buy it.

Orders open as early as 6:00am on October 20. Guests will choose an available arrival window, then pick up the mug at the Disneyland Hotel from 9:00am to 3:00pm.

The collectible costs $75, before tax. Disney is limiting purchases to one transaction per guest, with up to two mugs in that transaction.

What buyers need to know before heading over

The mug has a sculpted gray design with ghostly figures and characters from the film around the sides. It also has a red base styled like a stitched sack. Disney’s preview image also shows Jack Skellington as Sandy Claws reflected behind the mug.

Pickup is not at Trader Sam’s itself. Guests will need to go to the Rose Court Garden at the Disneyland Hotel during their selected arrival window, tap “I’m Here” in the app, and then check in with a Cast Member after getting a notification that the order is ready.

Disney says only the registered Disneyland app user can collect the order. That guest must show a valid ID and be at least 21 years old.

There is one extra perk for the one-day release. Complimentary parking at the Pixar Pals parking structure starts at 8:00am for buyers who show proof of mug purchase to the Cast Member there.

Anyone planning to try for the mug will want to pay close attention to the pickup window. Disney may cancel and refund orders that are not collected during that window, and the mugs will not be available for pickup at Trader Sam’s after the event ends.
