Shanghai Disney’s New Enchanted Star Hotel Finally Has a Date, and Booking Opens Next Week

Shanghai Disney Resort has moved its newest hotel from a seasonal promise to a firm opening day. Disney Enchanted Star Hotel will begin welcoming guests on December 16, 2026, with reservations set to open next week.

What changed, and when guests can book

The resort announced that Shanghai Disney Enchanted Star Hotel, or 上海迪士尼星愿酒店, will open on December 16, 2026. Until this update, the property had only been scheduled for a winter debut.

Reservations are due to begin at midnight on November 6, 2026, Shanghai time. The resort also gave the equivalent U.S. West Coast time as 8:00 a.m. Pacific on Thursday, November 5.

The announcement was shared on Instagram and framed around wishes and dreams, including a reference to “When You Wish Upon a Star.” The hotel’s tagline is “Where wishes meet a magical stay.”

A first look inside the new hotel

Alongside the opening date, the resort released its first official images from inside the property, showing the lobby and two room categories: the Enchanted Star Club Room and the Enchanted Star Deluxe Room.

The lobby is designed as a rotunda, centered on a chandelier made of spiraling stars. Its columns feature gold star details, and a large half moon window faces the grounds. Near that window sits a bronze Sorcerer Mickey statue.

In the Enchanted Star Club Room, there are two beds plus a third bed that folds down. When opened, it reveals artwork of Duffy and Friends under a night sky filled with stars. A screen above it displays Enchanted Storybook Castle with fireworks, and the room includes a bay window overlooking the lake.

The Enchanted Star Deluxe Room features purple arched headboards, gold bed runners, and murals above the beds showing a fairy tale castle and sweeping star trails.

What the hotel adds to Shanghai Disney Resort

The nine story deluxe hotel stands along Wishing Star Lake and is a short walk from the Shanghai Disneyland Hotel. It has 400 rooms and suites, with views of Shanghai Disneyland.

Its design draws from early 20th century Shanghai architecture and Art Nouveau, matching the resort’s stated approach of being “authentically Disney and distinctly Chinese.”

The project was first announced during a groundbreaking ceremony in August 2023, and the last primary steel beam was put in place in January 2025. Its name was revealed in June during a “Sharing Moment” tied to Shanghai Disney Resort’s 10th anniversary. The December 16 opening lands exactly six months after that milestone.

When it opens, Enchanted Star Hotel will join the 420 room Shanghai Disneyland Hotel and the 795 room Toy Story Hotel, bringing the resort to about 1,615 hotel rooms. Shanghai Disney Resort has also already announced a fourth hotel.
