We all need to cool off from time to time, and taking a walk in the fresh air is always a good choice. An Italian man made headlines recently for walking 280 miles (450 km) to cool off after a fight with his wife. No one would have ever found out about this interesting adventure if the police hadn’t caught him for breaking the lockdown.

When the police officers stopped a walker at 2 a.m. for violating the country’s lockdown curfew regulations, they couldn’t believe he had walked so far. However, after checking his name in the database, they discovered that his wife had actually reported him as missing seven days earlier in their hometown. “I came here on foot; I didn’t use any transport,” he allegedly told the police officers.

According to the Italian media, the man was cold and tired but appeared to be entirely rational. However, he confessed that he had no idea about the mileage he had covered.

He told the media that he received food from strangers during his impressive stroll, in which he covered around 40 miles a day (about 60 km). He told the policemen that he was “fine, just a little tired.”
