Should I Set Up My Ghosting Date with My Friend? | Reddit Dilemma

"Debating setting up my ghosting date with a friend - WIBTA? Reddit weighs in on a tricky situation of love, loyalty, and setting boundaries."

OP thought things were finally getting somewhere with Alex. They went on a date, it felt good, and there were even plans for a second round. Then, out of nowhere, Alex vanished. No explanation, no replies, just straight up ghost mode.

Now the twist, Casey brings it up, they’re interested in Alex. And sure, Casey and Alex might actually be a great match. But OP is stuck between wanting to do right by someone they genuinely care about, and feeling like loyalty is hard when Alex couldn’t even send a text back to OP.

The real dilemma is whether setting up Casey is a thoughtful move or petty revenge wearing a friendly smile.

So I'm (27M) and I've been friends with 'Alex' for years. Recently, we decided to try dating.

We went on a date, everything seemed great, and we even made plans for a second date. But then, Alex completely ghosted me.

No explanation, no replies, just disappeared. It hurt and frustrated me a lot.

Fast forward a few weeks, my friend 'Casey' mentions they're interested in Alex. Now, I know Casey is a great match for Alex and could potentially make them happy.

I'm tempted to set them up, but part of me wonders if it's wrong. On one hand, Alex ghosted me, so do they deserve my loyalty?

But on the other, is it meddling too much in their business? I genuinely care about Alex and want them to be happy, even if it's not with me.

So, WIBTA for trying to set them up with my friend Casey after the way Alex treated me?

After Alex disappeared on OP, the second date plan basically turned into a memory nobody can reply to.

Then Casey shows up like, “Yeah, I’m into Alex,” and suddenly OP is staring at a decision they never asked for.

The complicated part is that OP isn’t just angry, they also think Casey could make Alex happy, which makes the whole thing messier.

So OP has to decide if playing matchmaker with Casey is protecting their feelings or crossing a line after getting ghosted themselves.

We'd love to hear your take on this situation. Share your thoughts below.

OP might be trying to help Casey, but Alex already proved they can disappear without warning.
