Check Out This House That’s Identical To The One From "My Neighbor Totoro" - Same Exterior And Interior
The famous anime film hasn’t lost any of its appeal
The legendary Studio Ghibli brought to life the iconic animated film My Neighbor Totoro. The story follows two little girls, Satsuki and Mei, who move into a house in the countryside with their father to be closer to their mother, who is in the hospital.
This tale is beautifully crafted by the renowned Hayao Miyazaki. The girls discover a wonderful creature known as Totoro living in the surrounding forest, and they quickly become friends, embarking on amazing adventures together.
The beloved anime movie, which debuted in 1988, hasn't lost any of its charm, thanks to Studio Ghibli's dedication to artistic excellence, character development, and empathetic storytelling. Children are not the only ones who enjoy these films; every adult can find something to appreciate as well.
Therefore, it probably comes as no surprise that a real-life replica of Satsuki and Mei's house is open for visitors, given how widely regarded and loved My Neighbor Totoro is. Goro Miyazaki, the son of Hayao Miyazaki, who also makes films, actually designed the home in Aichi Commemorative Park.
Check out the house's exterior and interior design photographs below and compare them to the animated film.

The house was initially constructed in 2005 as part of the 2005 World's Fair. This full-scale recreation of the 1950s house from the beloved 1988 animation stood out the most and was the crowd's favorite during the 185-day event that year, which had the theme "Nature's Wisdom."

Despite having a striking resemblance to the exposition's mascot, Totoro never actually appears in the park due to copyright issues. Although the 2005 World's Fair concluded years ago, the home was reopened to the public in 2006.
